Overview: Your Privacy is Protected

MoveToEU is a client-side application. This means all data you enter stays on YOUR device in your browser's local storage. We do NOT collect, transmit, or store your personal information on any servers. We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties.

Important: Since everything is processed locally in your browser, only YOU have access to your data. We have no servers, no databases, and no way to access what you enter. Your privacy is protected by design.

🔒 NO Sensitive Data Storage: MoveToEU does NOT ask for, collect, or store ANY sensitive personal information including: passport numbers, national ID numbers, social security numbers, addresses, financial information, or any other personally identifiable documents. We only help you navigate the bureaucratic process - you handle your own documents with official authorities directly.

1. What Data is Stored Locally in Your Browser

Local Storage Only: When you use MoveToEU to:

• Select origin/destination countries for relocation guidance
• Build relocation checklists based on your situation
• Translate form templates
• Save your language preferences

All this information is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage on your own device. It never leaves your computer/phone.

2. What We Do NOT Collect

We do NOT collect, store, or have access to:

• ❌ Your name, email, or contact information (except voluntary contact form)
• ❌ Personal identification documents (passports, IDs, birth certificates)
• ❌ Government ID numbers (SSN, tax ID, national ID numbers)
• ❌ Addresses or residential information
• ❌ Financial information (bank accounts, credit cards)
• ❌ Employment contracts or salary information
• ❌ Health or medical records
• ❌ Family member personal details
• ❌ Document uploads or scans
• ❌ Relocation workflow details (stored locally only)
• ❌ Usage analytics or tracking data
• ❌ IP addresses or device information (we do not actively collect these; your IP address is passively logged by our hosting provider, Namecheap, as part of standard server access logs - outside our control)

We literally cannot see your data because it never reaches us. MoveToEU is an informational guide, not a document processing service.

3. Contact Form (Only Exception)

If you voluntarily use our Contact form to send us a message, you provide:

• Your name (optional)
• Your email address
• Your message content

Legal Basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR — Legitimate interest. We process this data solely to respond to your inquiry. You initiate the contact, and we have a legitimate interest in responding to you.

Data Retention: Contact form submissions (emails) are retained for a maximum of 48 hours from the date of receipt, after which they are permanently deleted.

Your Rights Regarding Contact Form Data: Since the contact form is the only instance where we receive personal data, you have the following rights under GDPR:

• Right to Access (Art. 15): You may request a copy of any personal data we hold about you from contact form submissions.
• Right to Rectification (Art. 16): You may request correction of any inaccurate data.
• Right to Erasure (Art. 17): You may request that we permanently delete all data from your contact form submission(s).
• Right to Object (Art. 21): You may object to our processing of your contact form data at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email askandhelp@yahoo.com with the subject line "GDPR Data Request". We will respond within 30 days as required by GDPR.

We do not use contact form submissions for marketing, profiling, or sharing with third parties.

4. Cookies & Local Storage

We use minimal essential local storage for:

• cookieConsent: Remembering if you accepted or rejected the cookie/storage consent banner
• hasVisited: Remembering that you have previously visited the site (prevents the consent banner from re-appearing)
• savedCases: Storing your saved workflow cases and checklists (user-generated data)
• userData: Storing your workflow builder preferences (origin/destination country, purpose, etc.)

Legal Basis: Article 6(1)(a) GDPR — Consent. These items are only stored after you interact with the cookie consent banner or actively use the application features. You may withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser data or using the "Erase All Data" button in My Saved Cases.

Note: The "Erase All Data" button removes your user-generated data (savedCases and userData). To also clear consent preferences (cookieConsent and hasVisited), use your browser's "Clear site data" feature.

These are strictly necessary items stored in local storage (not traditional HTTP cookies). They enable basic functionality and do not track you.

No analytics cookies, no tracking cookies, no advertising cookies.

5. Third-Party Services, Affiliates & External Links

Tracking & analytics: MoveToEU uses none of the following:

• \u274C Google Analytics or any analytics platform
• \u274C Facebook Pixel or advertising networks
• \u274C Cloud storage or external databases
• \u274C Third-party cookies or tracking scripts

Affiliate relationships: Some links in the Relocation Services section are affiliate links. MoveToEU may earn a small commission if you purchase a service through these links, at no extra cost to you. Affiliate partners currently include Translayte, RushTranslate, SafetyWing, Feather Insurance, Wise, Flatio, Saily, SimOptions, Holafly, MobiMatter, ParcelABC, and MyBaggage. These links are clearly marked with a \u2606 Affiliate badge on the page. Our editorial recommendations remain independent of these relationships.

MoveToEU is otherwise a standalone application with no external dependencies that access your personal data.

External Links: MoveToEU contains links to official government portals and other external resources. MoveToEU is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of any third-party websites. When you click an external link, you leave MoveToEU and become subject to that website's own privacy policy.

Social Sharing: MoveToEU's share buttons use privacy-safe plain URL links \u2014 no third-party SDKs, widgets, or tracking scripts are loaded. No data is collected or shared with social platforms until you actively click a share button.

6. Data Control & Deletion

You have complete control:

• Delete anytime: Click the "Erase All Data" button in My Saved Cases to instantly clear all locally stored data
• Browser controls: Clear your browser's local storage or site data to remove all MoveToEU data
• No retention period: Since we don't collect data, there's nothing to retain on our end

Data deletion is immediate and permanent because it only exists on your device.

7. GDPR Compliance & Legal Bases

MoveToEU is committed to full compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679. Below are the legal bases for each type of data processing:

• Browser local storage (workflow data, preferences, saved cases): Article 6(1)(a) — Consent. Data is stored locally only after you actively use the application. You can withdraw consent and delete all data at any time via the "Erase All Data" button in My Saved Cases.
• Cookie consent & language preferences: Article 6(1)(a) — Consent. Stored only after your explicit interaction with the consent banner.
• Contact form submissions: Article 6(1)(f) — Legitimate interest. You initiate contact, and we have a legitimate interest in responding. Data is retained for a maximum of 48 hours.

Data minimization: We collect the absolute minimum data necessary. The app is designed to function entirely client-side.

Purpose limitation: Any data you enter is used solely for generating your personalized workflow or responding to your inquiry.

Storage limitation: Local data exists only as long as you keep it. Contact form data is deleted within 48 hours.

Transparency: This privacy policy clearly explains all processing activities, legal bases, and your rights.

8. Your Rights Under GDPR

For data stored locally in your browser (workflows, saved cases, preferences):

• Right to access: All your data is visible in the app and in your browser's local storage
• Right to deletion: Use the "Erase All Data" button in My Saved Cases or clear your browser data
• Right to portability: You can export your workflows and data using the Export/Print features
• Right to object: Simply stop using the app, or clear your data at any time

You do not need to contact us to exercise these rights — you already have full control.

For contact form data (if you have submitted a message via the contact form):

• Right to access (Art. 15): Request a copy of your data
• Right to rectification (Art. 16): Request correction of inaccurate data
• Right to erasure (Art. 17): Request permanent deletion of your data
• Right to restriction (Art. 18): Request that we limit processing of your data
• Right to object (Art. 21): Object to processing of your data
• Right to lodge a complaint: You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Romania, this is the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP) at www.dataprotection.ro

9. Security

Your data security is ensured by:

• No transmission: Data never leaves your device, so it cannot be intercepted
• No server storage: We have no databases that could be breached
• Browser security: Your data is protected by your browser's built-in security features
• No accounts or passwords: No credentials to steal or accounts to hack
• No sensitive data collection: We do not ask for passport numbers, IDs, addresses, or any sensitive personal information
• No document uploads: MoveToEU does not store any document files on its servers. Documents uploaded to the Translation Tool are processed entirely within your browser and are never transmitted to MoveToEU or any third party

Data Breach Notification: The only personal data we may hold is from contact form submissions (email address, name, message content). In the unlikely event that the askandhelp@yahoo.com email account is compromised and contact form data is exposed, we will: (1) notify affected individuals within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach, (2) notify the Romanian supervisory authority (ANSPDCP) as required by Article 33 GDPR, and (3) take immediate steps to secure the account and mitigate any damage.

Best practice: Use a secure, updated browser and keep your device protected with a password/PIN. Submit all actual documents directly to official government authorities, never to third-party services.

10. Automated Decision-Making & Profiling

MoveToEU does not engage in any automated decision-making or profiling as defined under Article 22 of the GDPR. No decisions affecting you are made solely by automated means. The workflow builder and translation features generate output based on your direct input only, without any profiling, scoring, or behavioural analysis.

11. International Data Transfers

MoveToEU does not transfer personal data to any third country or international organisation. All application data is processed locally in your browser. The only exception is the contact form, which sends data to our email address hosted within the European Economic Area. No personal data is transferred outside the EU/EEA.

12. Data Protection Officer

Given the small scale of our data processing activities and the nature of data processed (limited to voluntary contact form submissions), MoveToEU is not required to appoint a Data Protection Officer under Article 37 of the GDPR. 13. Age Requirement & Children's Privacy

MoveToEU is intended for users aged 16 and older. In accordance with Article 8 of the GDPR, we do not knowingly collect or process personal data from individuals under the age of 16.

While the main application stores data only locally in your browser and does not transmit personal data, the contact form does collect personal data (email address). Users under 16 should not submit the contact form without parental or guardian consent.

If we become aware that we have received contact form data from a person under 16 without appropriate parental consent, we will delete that data immediately. If you believe a minor has submitted personal data through our contact form, please notify us at askandhelp@yahoo.com.

14. Changes to This Policy

If we ever change how the app works (e.g., adding server-side features), we will update this policy and notify users prominently on the homepage. The current effective date is shown at the top of this policy.
