Tax Identification Code (TIC / ΑΦΜ)
Deadline: Required before starting employment or receiving income in Cyprus
Processing Time: 1–2 weeks. Can be expedited if employer applies on your behalf.
Fees: Free
Appointment: No appointment needed. Walk-in at district Tax Offices.
Required Documents:
- Valid passport or ID card
- Registration certificate (MEU1) or application receipt
- Proof of address
- Employment contract or company registration (if self-employed)
- Completed TIC application form (available at the Tax Office)
Where to Do It:
District Tax Offices — Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, Paphos. Main office: Ministry of Finance, 1439 Nicosia.
If You Don't Do It:
May not be able to be legally employed or pay taxes without a TIC. Employers face penalties for hiring workers without one.
